HepB Birth Dose Introduction in African Region

This meeting will be the second of a four-part meeting series on Hepatitis B Birth Dose (HepB BD) for African Countries. This meeting will bring together countries that have already introduced HepB BD, those that are in various stages of introducing HepB BD in their national immunization programmes and countries that have not yet started the process, and will discuss progress, opportunities and challenges for HepB BD introduction in Africa.
The second meeting will be held on May 5th at 8:00am EST (1:00pm West Africa Time/2:00pm Central Africa Time/3:00pm East Africa Time).
Objectives met
- Develop a community of practice of practitioners to share lessons learned in support of the introduction of HepB birth dose vaccine in African countries
- Identify the needs and priorities of Ministries of Health and EPI programs who wish to introduce HepB birth dose vaccine
Expected outputs in meeting report
- Case studies of ongoing efforts related to HepB birth dose in at least four countries (one each from: West Africa, Eastern Africa, Central Africa, and Southern Africa).
