CGHE Annual Report Highlights Progress in our Third Year of Operations

At the close of a great third year in operation, the Coalition is proud to share our 2021–2022 Annual Report. As Dr. Ward shares in his opening letter, progress has leapt forward this year in our mission to achieve global hepatitis elimination.

The Coalition is pleased to illustrate in this report how we have achieved growth within all three strategic pillars—mobilizing commitment, providing technical support, and building communities of practice. We are grateful to all partners and collaborators who have made this work possible.

Highlights include

  • Convening a Side Event at the United Nations that secured commitments from nine Member States to launch the first UN Group of Friends to Eliminate Hepatitis, to which the Coalition will serve as Secretariat
  • Assisted the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy by providing data modeling, which has since informed the US policymakers that now advocate for a national hepatitis C elimination program
  • Launching Impact-B, a multi-country study of hepatitis B birth dose in Africa
  • Developing Tip-HepC, the first global registry of pregnant women treated for hepatitis C
  • Hosting webinars attended by over 3,000 participants from over 90 countries
  • Collaborating with partners in over 20 nations to create hepatitis elimination country profiles
