On receiving the notice of her selection, Dr. Nartey remarked, "I feel incredibly honored to be selected as the first HERO fellow for global hepatitis elimination. I look forward advancing the efforts to eliminate viral hepatitis in Ghana and other countries in sub-Saharan Africa."

As a HERO Fellow, Dr. Nartey will work with the Ghana National Viral Hepatitis Control Program to assist the implementation of the first HCV treatment program in Ghana.
