Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination Accepting Nominations for 2023 Elimination Champions

The Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination (CGHE) is delighted to announce that nominations are now open for our 2023 CGHE Elimination Champions program. Launching on July 28 (World Hepatitis Day for 2023) this initiative aims to recognize the outstanding contributions made by individuals who have demonstrated remarkable efforts in improving political commitment, policies, and programs that expand access to interventions and accelerate progress toward hepatitis elimination, particularly in areas with limited resources.

The nomination period for the 2023 Elimination Champions will commence on July 28, 2023, and will conclude on September 30, 2023. During this timeframe, individuals and organizations are encouraged to submit nominations for candidates who have made significant and measurable advancements in the field of hepatitis prevention, testing, care, and treatment.

The criteria for nomination are as follows:

1. Nominees must have direct actions that have resulted in substantial and demonstrable improvements in hepatitis prevention, testing, care, and treatment.

2. Areas of work encompass a wide range of activities, including public awareness, political mobilization, planning and policy development, financing, service delivery, and technical innovations.

3. Emphasis will be given to nominees who expand access to interventions and accelerate progress towards elimination for marginalized populations and those operating in low/middle income countries.

Eligibility requirements include:

1. Nominees may self-nominate.

2. Nominees can be from any sector but must have at least three years of work related to hepatitis.

3. Incomplete applications lacking required information will not be considered.

A distinguished panel of judges from the hepatitis community, including previous honorees, will carefully evaluate and score all nominations. Please note that individuals who are currently employed as staff, consultants, or interns at CGHE, or as staff at the Task Force for Global Health, are not eligible for nomination. Additionally, any previous champion is not eligible for re-nomination.
