Abstract

General purpose

Decrease morbidity and mortality caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV) in the population Spanish, efficiently addressing prevention, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of patients.

Strategic lines

1. Quantify the magnitude of the problem, describe the epidemiological characteristics of patients with hepatitis C virus infection and establish measures of prevention.

2. Define the scientific-clinical criteria that allow establishing the appropriate therapeutic strategy considering the use of direct-acting antivirals for the Hepatitis C treatment within the scope of the National Health System.

3. Establish coordination mechanisms for the proper implementation of the Strategy for addressing hepatitis C in the National Health System. 

4. Promote progress in the knowledge of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis C in the National Health System
