  2. Evidence base

Evidence base

The objective of the evidence base is to disseminate the best available information to promote the implementation of effective HBV and HCV prevention, testing, and treatment interventions to achieve elimination goals. The evidence base is a repository of systematic reviews on priority topics, such as hepB birth dose, hepatitis action plans, and HCV testing. The evidence base is a searchable database of the individual references identified in each systematic review. Synthesis briefs that summarize the key findings and implications of each systematic review are available.

Edit

Evidence base

All evidence

The full evidence base includes all systematic reviews, guidelines, and policies identified by the HepB birth dose and action plan systematic reviews.

Birth dose

The Birth Dose Evidence Base includes the results of a systematic review of other systematic reviews and guideline documents on the implementation of hepatitis B birth dose vaccination.

HCV blood test HCV blood test

HCV testing

The HCV Testing Evidence Base includes the results of a systematic review of studies that report on HCV testing algorithms and associated HCV public health outcomes (i.e. initiation of treatment).

Pregnant woman

HCV treatment in pregnancy ("Tip-HepC")

The "Treatment of Hepatitis C in Pregnancy" Evidence Base brings together results of a systematic review of articles describing data, practices, and policies related to HCV epidemiology, screening, and treatment among pregnant persons.

HepB birth dose synthesis

To help digest the rich Hepatitis B Birth Dose evidence base, we developed a synthesis brief. In this brief, you can find the list of references in the evidence base and an overview of their findings on effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of the birth dose, as well as a summary of the barriers to implementation and mitigating solutions described across the articles.
