Prof. Jens Bukh, M.D., is a Professor of Virology and Deputy Head at Department of Immunology and Microbiology, University of Copenhagen, and a Chief Research Physician at Department of Infectious Diseases, Copenhagen University Hospital, Hvidovre. He is the Director of Copenhagen Hepatitis C Program (CO-HEP), which engages about 50 investigators. His research focus is positive-strand RNA viruses, with special emphasis on hepatitis C virus (HCV) and related viruses, as well as SARS-CoV-2, and covers basic and translational studies of genetic heterogeneity, pathogenesis, antivirals, and vaccine development. Prof. Jens Bukh has published more than 250 research articles and is the recipient of the 2015 Novo Nordisk Prize and the 2022 Hagedorn Prize.
